Volunteering with Foundry
As part of Foundry's commitment to sustainability and caring for God's creation, Foundry has begun using ceramic/stoneware  plates and mugs instead of disposable products. We are still in need of coffee hour volunteers to help transport these items to the dishwasher at the end of each coffee hour. Please contact Jackie at  if you are interested!

Please join fellow Foundry members the first Saturday of every month at Christ House Located at 1717 Columbia Road NW in Adam’s Morgan, Christ House is a 24-hour residential medical facility for un-housed men and women. Patients are admitted to Christ House from area hospitals, shelters, and clinics. Foundry cooks lunch at Christ House each first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to Noon. If you are interested, contact christhouse@foundryumc.org.

Foundry’s ID Ministry has returned to the first and third Saturdays of the month! If you are interested in a very meaningful and life-changing volunteer opportunity, ID Ministry is for you. Please email idministry@foundryumc.org if interested.
Our fantastic ESL program is looking for a volunteer to help welcome and direct students to classes. It is an easy but important role! If interested, email esl@foundryumc.org.

Help in the Annual Count of Unhoused Neighbors

Be part of the Foundry team taking part in the Point-in-Time Count, the ‘census’ of unhoused neighbors in DC, which provides policy makers and funders the information they need on homelessness in the District. Volunteers are needed to canvass the Foundry neighborhood. Like last year, training will be available on-line. For more information, email jackie@foundryumc.org.

We want as many foundry members learning the fundamentals of relational organizing to create more justice in our communities!

Whether you are a long-time WIN leader or brand new, we invite you to join us for a Winter Training and Action Series where you will have the opportunity to reflect on topics like relational power, public narrative, tension and have the opportunity to plan and execute a public action with your local councilmember.

We have heard from many of you that WIN’s large actions are meaningful but you want to know the mechanics of how they are put together and be a part of creating one. So this winter rather than prepare for one large District wide action we will prepare for smaller ward wide actions with councilmembers leading up to the DC Budget Season, which begins mid March and ends in May. In preparation, we will host: three training sessions, two DC Council visit days, an action prep/rehearsal, smaller ward actions and an action evaluation event. Each training will be held with leaders from across the District and will provide space for ward breakout groups. All training sessions will be offered in a hybrid format.

For questions, email sacredresistance@foundryumc.org.

There an opportunity to directly support a migrant family connected to Foundry through DC mutual aid groups. If you'd like to contribute, please follow the link to the GoFundMe page.

Thank you to all who donated to Josie Martin’s Hot Cocoa Stand for the ID Ministry. Between the money raised at the actual event and online, Josie raised around $2,350! That’s over 100 DC IDs!

Thank you for helping one of our Foundry Youth make a difference!
