Foundry family,

As we enter into the season of Lent, we invite you to reflect on one of our core values, we serve God by serving others. We remember the second of Christ’s greatest commandments in loving each other and making personal commitments to working with people in our neighborhood and around the world.

As a congregation, we partner with organizations that are working within spaces of complexity and loss. Drawing near to one another can help us navigate trying and even traumatic times in our lives. It is for that reason that we invite you to practice the traditional Lenten discipline of almsgiving through our Lenten/Easter Appeal. This year, the goal for our Lenten Appeal is to raise at least $30,000 for two distinct purposes:

1. TraRon Center located in Southeast D.C. exists to provide a safe, supportive space for gun violence survivors by offering a focus on the inclusion of creative arts. Their mission is to offer artful expression to equip survivors with strategies to healthfully endure the complexities of loss while promoting community health and solidarity.

2. Building and Technology enhancements to provide both safety and continued capacity to offer meaningful digital engagement through every worship or community-building opportunity.

Please help us meet our goal of $30,000 by Easter Sunday, April 9. You may make your gift here, or by visiting our website and selecting GIVE in the top right corner

Your gift to the Lenten/Easter Appeal is a way to honor our core values and practice loving each other well. It is our prayer that you find peace along this journey and that together, through Foundry, we continue to change lives, find healing, and offer care, safety, and hope.

Thank you for your generous support.

Lenten Blessings,

Your Foundry Clergy and Staff
